Lien Doan Announcement 5/16/2021

We will have Hop Doan for all Nganh this week, Sunday, 5/16/21 10am-12pm at Los Alamos Park, Fountain Valley.

Memorial Day Camp Information:

We are so excited to announce that LD will be having a Memorial Day Weekend Camp once again.  In an attempt to ease all members back to in-person scout activities after a year of remote meetings, we will only have 1 night of camp at this event.

• Date:  Saturday, 05/29 to 05/30

• Location:  Little Oaks, (Part of Oak Canyon Park-5305 E Santiago Canyon Rd, Silverado)

• Cost: $15 per person ($10 pp for campground fee + $5 pp for LD dinner)

• Please register at https://chilang1279.org. Deadline to register is Sunday, 5/23/2021.

• SPECIAL NOTE:  Due Covid-19 precaution and safety of our scouts, overnight tenting is with your own family only or arranged as per parents’ own discretion.  Parents are responsible for the supervision of your children overnight. 

• In order for the scouts to have full camp experience, we request all to stay overnight. 

• Environment Conservation Service Hour at Camp: help pick up dead branches and leaves at camp

  • Sunday morning- time TBA

  • All Doan Sinh are encourage to participate

  • Participation will qualify sign-off for community service requirements portion of Khoa.

• Sunday, May 16th, 10am-12pm

• Los Alamos Park, 17901 Los Alamos St, Fountain Valley 

• Class A (Class B underneath)

• Water, Hat, and Khoa material, pen, pocket book, masks, back pack.

• Au Doan : We will have Thu Thach at camp. Please complete your sign-off items in the next 2 meetings. 

• Thieu Doan: 

  • We will have Thu Thach for advancement at Memorial Camp. Please study your Khoa material and sign-off.  Make sure to bring all your sign-off material/study guide with you to the park.

  • We will be assembling Camp Patrol groups 

• Kha Thanh Doan:

  • Thu Thach opportunity at camp
     

Upcoming Event:

• BSA Summer Camp at Camp Big Horn Circle X 

  • July 25, 2021 to July 31

  • Opportunities to earn multiple Merit Badges (Thieu & Kha/Thanh-BSA)

  • Programs include shooting sports venues, a swimming pool, craft and nature programs, horseback riding, a climbing wall, a high ropes COPE course, an astronomy program, and the new 1,100 foot Zip Line spanning the entire canyon

  • Cost: $460 per youth

  • Scholarship opportunity to have your child’s camp be covered in part

    • Deadline to apply for the scholarship 05/30/21

  • More information will be forthcoming about the scholarship and the camp registration from your Nganh Truong. 

  • This is a great opportunity for scouts to enjoy high adventure outdoor activities, bond with friends, earn merit badges, and build lifelong memories in scouting.

  • Our troop will be sending adult leaders to support the scouts at camp.
